Fernando Ottati is an Uruguayan illustrator who has 20 years of professional experience in the field. Ottati‘s work has been recognized both nationally and internationally as he has won several renowned awards including the first prize in the Hispanic Heritage Council National Poster Contest. After winning that prestigious contest, the City of Aventura awarded Ottati with a Proclamation that made Ottati the first Hispanic, in the history of the city, to receive such distinction.
Ottati has also been a keynote speaker all around the country in several institutions of higher learning such as Florida International University, where he presented a conference titled “Art from Comic-Books on Film” to talk about the art of graphic novels and their transition to Hollywood blockbusters.
Ottati‘s artwork has been exhibited at South Art Gallery and Abanico Art Gallery, among others, as well as at Miami-Dade’s Government Center, with the presence of Mayor of Miami Manny Diaz in its reception. A custom artwork that he created has been in display at the Uruguayan Basketball Hall of Fame Trophy Room since 1997.
Ottati is a High School Art Teacher, Graphic Design Teacher and has taught art courses at both the elementary and secondary levels. Ottati created and developed an art course for children called “Art of Superheroes” to teach the basics of superheroes artwork.
He also speaks fluently four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
